Code of Practice

The AIFP Code of Practice is a collection of ethical rules agreed upon by the AIFP members for the promotion of medicinal products to healthcare professionals and interaction with healthcare professionals, healthcare facilities and patient organisations. The aim is to ensure that the ethical principles of professional and responsible conduct are adhered to as closely as possible in these activities.

This Code applies to all types of communication and interaction (traditional and digital). The new consolidated Code of Practice was adopted by the AIFP Board of Directors on 23 March 2020 and approved by the AIFP General Assembly on 16 April 2020. It became effective on 1 January 2021.
